We were very happy to welcome a delegation of equal opportunity officers from four Berlin districts on October 13! The visit took place as part of a city-to-city project organized by MA 57 in collaboration with several Berlin districts on the topic of protection against violence and gender-based violence.
LEFÖ-IBF Co-Head Tamara Schmidt met with the equal opportunity officers Eva Karpf (Lichtenberg District Office), Maria Koch (Treptow-Köpenick District Office), Susanne Joerg (Reinickendorf District Office), and Jamile da Silva e Silva (Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg District Office). Together, they discussed the integrated organizational and coordination structures linking the administration, violence prevention agencies, the healthcare system, the police, the judiciary, and civil society in the City of Vienna, as well as prevention, victim protection, and the provision of housing and shelter services. Another key focus was on long-term, sustainable structures for comprehensive support systems for those affected.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the delegation as well as to the International Offices of the City of Vienna (Vienna Offices) for organizing the event, and we look forward to the continued cooperation between the two capital cities!
