On April 30, LEFÖ, together with IRARU, was invited to the Vienna Latina Consortium’s exhibition at the Wien Museum, alongside other Latin American organizations, with the aim of showcasing the collaborative process behind various workshops and an archival contribution, as well as leaving behind an object that will live on in the Latin American community as a reminder of LEFÖ’s history.
Over the past three months, LEFÖ, together with IRARU, conducted four workshops on the topic of migration with women* who seek counseling in various areas of the organization, as well as a workshop for LEFÖ staff members. This resulted in a collective work of art that was exhibited at the Wien Museum.
Through artistic work, the workshops on migration opened up a space to explore and process memories, fears, and emotions that are often difficult to put into words. In this collective process, these experiences were transformed into a shared artistic work: “the coat.” At the exhibition, “the coat” was once again used as a starting point for new creative interpretations, thereby creating a space for collective reflection on migration.
